NRMP SOAP Timeline 2018: Match Calendar

Many individuals have asked what NRMP is. It is the shortened form of the National Resident Matching Program, a non-profit organization that was founded in the year 1952. The program helps medical graduates to find their match programs that are still available. March 13 NRMP SOAP Timeline:

  • 10:30 AM: School officials will access the unmatched applicants.
  • 11: 00 AM: Candidates will learn if they matched via the R3 system and email. For the SOAP partially matched and eligible unmatched candidates, they have access to the list of unfilled programs in the R3 system. It is encouraged that candidates should consult their advisors in medical school.
  • 2:00 P.M: Candidates can begin to prepare and send applications in the ERAS system.
  • 3:00 P.M: The programs can view SOAP applications in the ERAS system as well as to contact candidates upon receipt of application.

March 14

The programs create SOAP preference lists in the R3 system. The programs will continue to communicate with the candidates. In here, candidates should not submit a SOAP preference list.

March 15: SOAP Round 1

  • 11:55 AM: This is the deadline for “program preference list certification” for the round one.
  • 12:00 noon: Candidates receive offers and check those by signing in their R3 system. In here, the candidates will reject or accept the offers after all are being generated. For rejected offers, it will not be made again and the rejected positions will not be issued to some applicants until the start of the next offer.
  • 2:00 PM SOAP Participation Deadline: The deadline for candidates to reject or accept the offer for round one in the R3 system.
  • 2:05 PM: The list of unfilled programs is being updated in the R3 system for the eligible candidates for SOAP.
  • 2:55 PM: This is the start of SOAP NRMP 2018 round two. It is about the program deadline to re-certify and modify the preference list
  • 3:00 PM: Candidates starts to receive offers in the R3 system.
  • 5:00 PM SOAP Participation Deadline: The deadline for candidates to reject or accept the round two offers.
  • 5:05 PM: This is when updates of the list of unfilled programs in the R3 system for eligible candidates for SOAP will be shown.

March 16:

  • 8:00 AM: The advanced data tables will be posted to the R3 system for institutions, programs, and schools.
  • 8: 55 AM: The SOAP 2018 NRMP round three starts. This is the time to re-certify and modify the preference list before the round three
  • 9:00 AM: Candidates starts to receive offers in the R3 system.
  • 11: 00 AM: The candidates’ deadline to reject or accept the round three offers.

March 17:

  • 12:00 PM: It is the Match School Match Day Ceremonies.
  • 1:00 PM: Candidates will know the location of programs in which they matched via Rs system and email.
  • 2:00 PM: It is the Match outcome for all programs by state.

  • September 15: Candidates can open their NRMP account. The time they have set it up, applicants need to return to their MyERAS account and enter their NRMP ID number.
  • November 30: After this date, all candidates will be charged an additional fee of $50 for late registration.
  • January 15: This will be the first date on which applicants can start to enter their rank order list.
  • February 24: This date is the deadline for the registration and it is also the date for withdrawing from the match.
  • March 14: It will be the start of the week Match. When it comes to the R3 system, it will be run in rounds. Applicants will be notified of any matches and they have two hours to reject or accept the matches. Applicants can receive multiple matches in a certain round or in some cases, none at all.
  • March 18: This will be the Match Day. This is the day when all rounds are completed and applicants will be notified.
